COME ON * CHUCK BERRY * PYE INTERNATIONAL 25209 * UK

Chuck Berry looked set to make a comeback in the early 1960s after his spell in the shovel for getting involved with a girl of 14. The new wave of Pop idols were covering his songs - Come On was the Rolling Stones first record - The Beach Boys turned Sweet Little Sixteen into Surfin USA and the Beatles covered Roll Over Beethoven to name a few, and he had been writing songs during his incarceration. But although he did well with songs like Nadien, No Particular Place To Go and You Never Can Tell he never really hit the high's of his Rock and Roll years.
