DON'T BE A DROP OUT * JAMES BROWN * KING 6056 * USA
Strong moral messages, like the ones contained in Don't Be A
Drop Out, are found in the work of artists as far back as Aristophanes the
poet, yet due to hypocritical and oppressive moralizing by the Church and later by political parties (left, right and center) the overt
expression of morals by individuals is invariably viewed as objectionable.
Prompted by this record the Shades Of Brown Fan Club was formed in Oakland,
California, the stated aim of the club was to "encourage students to stay
in school, get good grades and continue on to college", the club was
successful in sending several underprivileged students top collage. The Shades
Of Brown Fan Club went international in 1991. If state education is your thing their address is: PO
Box 6236 Oakland, CA 94603.
