DON'T LEAVE ME * HENRY LUMPKIN * MOTOWN 1013 * USA

Don't Leave Me is the B side of What Is A Man, Henry Lumpkin's second of three releases on the Motown imprint, the song was co-written by Smokey Robinson, Berry Gordy and 'Brianbert' (Brian Holland and Robert Bateman) and produced by 'Brianbert'. Don't Leave Me was first recorded for Berry Gordy by Marv Johnson, Henry Lumpkin gives it a rougher and slightly more up-tempo treatment than either Marv Johnson, or the beautiful dream-like version by The Miracles.
