GOOD BYE MY LOVER GOOD BYE * JIMMY HUGHES * FAME 6407 * USA

Jimmy Hughes first record was for the Guyden label in 1962, then, after a gap of two years, he recorded one for Jamie before moving to FAME in 1964 where he was to stay until 1967. Founded in 1959 by Rick Hall, FAME (an acronym for Florence Alabama Music Enterprises) was, until 1969, exclusively a singles label even though there were a good brace of albums worth of material by Jimmy Hughes as the ballad Good Bye My Lover Good Bye was his fourth of twelve for the label.
