Jimmy Holiday was born 1934 Sallis, Mississippi, his first recorded for the Everest label, after which he moved to Minit. The self penned ballad How Can I Forget sung with power and raw emotion was his debut recording and a big hit at the time in London with the young who were calling themselves modernists.
The song was also recorded that same year by Ben E. King and as a Reggae cut by Derrick Morgan (see below).
