NIGHT TIME IS THE RIGHT TIME * LATTIMORE BROWN * DUCHESS 1002 * USA

Originally recorded, in this form, as The Right Time by Nappy Brown on Savoy Records in 1957, but the song or at least the essence of the song goes way back to 1937 when Night Time Is The Right Time (To Be With the One You Love) was recorded by pianist and vocalist Roosevelt Sykes, followed a year later by Big Bill Broonzy's version with lyrics closer to the import of the title.

The song has been covered by several major acts since Nappy Brown's Soulful R&B cut, the most famous version being the one recorded by Ray Charles and The Raelettes in 1958. On this his first of three for the Nashville based Duchess label Lattimore Brown and Orchestra combines aspects of the Nappy Brown and Ray Charles versions and comes up with a stunning James Brown type performance (James Brown did record the song in 1983).
