PAIN * ROY HEAD AND THE TRAITS * VOCALION 9269 * UK
On occasions worlds collide head on, at other times they just glance off of each other, when Roy Head formed The Traits they were a Country outfit, then they moved into Rock and Roll, possibly the switch helped them become neither one thing nor the other and they ended up sounding more R&B/Soul. Added to which they had their biggest successes on a Soul label: Back Beat, and it is easy to see why for a time Roy Head And The Traits were occasionally taken for a black group. This cut was originally issued in the USA as the B side to Teen Age Letter on Back Beat 543, Roy Head's first release on the label, then reissued again as a B side coupled with My Babe on # 560, this was the form it was released in the UK two years later.
