Roosevelt "Rosey" Grier is singer, one of the NFL's greatest football stars (first a linebacker for the New York Giants, then a tackle for the Los Angeles Rams) a heroic body guard, an actor, social activist, and a church minister. He made his debut recording Sincerely for A records of New Jersey in 1959, and continued recording throughout his other careers. After retiring from football in 1968 he became a bodyguard for Senator Robert F. Kennedy during the 1968 presidential election, it was after wrestling the alleged assassin Sirhan to the ground after the younger Kennedy was shot, that Roosevelt Grier was moved to record the above song, written by Bobby Womack, as a tribute to Robert Kennedy.
