Bobby Parker began hi musical career playing guitar for Otis Williams And The Charms, he later backed Bo Diddley then the Paul 'Hucklebuck' Williams big band. After going solo he cut an earlier version of Marv Johnson's You Got What It Takes backed with Blues Get Off My Shoulder for Vee-Jay in 1958, he then cut the above for the Philadelphian independent V-Tone which was selling well when the label went bankrupt. Bobby Parker also recorded for the Frisky in the early 1960s.
