TWO WOMEN * JIMMY LEWIS * TRC 987
Born in Itta Bena near Greenwood, Mississippi James E. Lewis aka Jimmy Lewis moved to LA where he teamed up with Clifford Chambers writing and producing records for small labels around the Bay area. Written by Lewis and Chambers the quality mid tempo Two Women is the B side of his first of five releases on Ray Charles' Tangerine Record Corporation, (he also recorded a duet with 'Brother Ray).
For some reason many writers claim that Jimmy Lewis sang lead with the Drifters in the early 1960s, this of course was Rudy Lewis who died while still quite young in 1964.
