DIDN'T I (BLOW YOUR MIND THIS TIME) * THE DELFONICS * PHILY GROVE 161 * USA
A superb mid-tempo Soul song Didn't I was a departure from the groups previous slow ballads, produced by Thom Bell - he was soon to leave Philly Grove and The Delfonics and join the Gamble/Huff partnership. The Delfonics came together as a group in High School in 1964, then they were calling themselves Four Gents and later The Orphonics . It was in 1966 when they had acquired Stan Watson as a manger and produced by Thom Bell, that they changed their name to The Delfonics, as there was already a group going by the name of the Orphonics; during 1966 they also released their first record.
