GET OUT (AND LET ME CRY) * HAROLD MELVIN AND THE BLUE NOTES * ROUTE 06 * UK

Fantastic slice of New York Soul that sadly wasn't issued in the UK at the time but did finally get a release ten years latter on the back of popular demand from Northern Soul fans.

Written and produced by Richard Barrett Get Out was originally released in the USA on his Landa label # 703, being the first to credit the group as Harold Melvin And The Blue Notes, previously they had been known as The Blue Notes. Get Out was the groups only release on the label, preceded by one on Harthon and followed by one on Arctic, in fact, since their debut on wax in the mid-1950s, the group recorded for a plethora of independent labels both large and small often having only on release on each, this was due in part to their preference of being a live act performing in supper clubs and other up-market night clubs across America. It wasn't until they signed with Philadelphia International in 1972 that the group became settled and achieved international acclaim for their recordings.
