Sonny Boy Williamson 1st wrote and recorded the original version of Good Morning Little Schoolgirl at the Leland Hotel, Aurora, Ill. May 5 1937, it was his first ever recording, issued on Blue Bird B7059 backed with Sugar Mama Blues. Don & Bob's up-tempo version, with some different verses, was issued on Argo 5400, revived the songs fortunes and throughout the 1960s it was a standard for Blues artists and Rock bands alike, both live and on record.
