HERE I GO AGAIN * ARCHIE BELL & THE DRELLS * ATLANTIC 2693 * USA

Here I Go Again has all the qualities of The Drells previous classy dance records, in fact at times I often think of it as a dace record, while in fact it is a love song, albeit an up-tempo love song.

Archie Bell and James Wise, Huey 'Billy' Butler and Joe Cross, were Archie Bell & The Drells when they first recorded for East West in 1966, prior to this Archie Bell had been part of a group known as Little Pop & The Fireballs. The group came from Houston, Texas, and their first success came with Tighten Up a B side issued on the Ovide label that was picked up by Atlantic and released on Atlantic 2478. With the backing and distribution of Atlantic Tighten Up reached number one on both R&B and Pop charts in 1968.

Also released in Germany in 1972 in this picture sleeve cover with a confident looking Archie Bell & The Drells, even if the layout technician on the lettering wasn't as confident.
