I AM A MEMBER OF THE CLUB * TITUS TURNER AND HIS TEAR TONES * BELL 620 * USA
Titus Turner recorded for a plethora of labels going way back to 1950 when he made his debut for Aladdin records in California. Born in Atlanta in 1933 he had a recording career that lasted over a quarter of a century, he died when only just in his fifties in 1984. I Am A Member Of The Club - not a club that folk would rush to join - was his only release for the Bell label and was not released in the UK; he did however have four British releases, compared to over fifty in the US, though Soul fans in Britain did get a chance to hear this cut (his only one on the disc) on the Stateside LP An Album Full Of Soul SL10172, along with fifteen other tracks by various artists taken from the Bell/Amy/Mala catalogue.
