Find My Baby / Jungle Fever was the debut record for The African Beavers, released in March 1965 on RCA 8530 in the US; unusually for a debut release it was awarded the honor of a picture sleeve and a full page avert in the March 27 edition of Billboard (see below) . Unfortunately for Soul music fans RCA chose not to give out any biographical information on the group; interestingly on the very next page to this advert is the Rhythm and Blues charts page which also features lists by selected Soul DJs across the states not one of which recommends this on their play lists nor is it mentioned in the 'New Action R&B Singles' on the same page. It has since been established on various sites: here and here that two of the members might be Tony Fox and Larry Hale, but it would still seem that little is known about this interesting group. The song is a fine up-tempo Soul cut with some classy vocals from the lead singer, though the lyrics are a bit obscure.
