After the groups long and commercially successful period with Mercury records, who, in the end, only wanted to tie them to the MOR supper club audience, The Platters had something of a youthful revival when they started to record for Musicor. The group had replaced Paul Robi with Nat Nelson (previously with The Flamingos) and Zola Taylor was replaced with Sandra Dawn, but the new line up worked well, and their first record I Love You 1000 Times for Musicor #1166 was bang on contemporary Soul, and in the UK, was to be the first of three Soul hits for the group. The above With This Ring was the second, followed by Washed Ashore.
