You Don't Know was the third release by Sam (Moore) And Dave (Prater) for the Stax label USA, and their first top ten R&B hit. The duo both had a background in Gospel (The Melionaires and The Sensational Hummingbirds) and had recorded for the Roulette label before signing with Atlantic in 1965.
