Heartbreaker marks an end to the predominantly R&B recordings of Ray Charles on Atlantic, he had already been laying the ground for the Soul sound of the 1960s, but in Heartbreaker, with its Boppin' Boogie rhythm there was the flavor of an earlier Ray Charles still there to be heard.
