With bandleader Dave Bartholomew and Huey "Piano" Smith giving a top piano solo; I Hear You Knocking was to be his biggest hit, which might have been even bigger for the unlucky Smiley Lewis had not one Gale Storm cut a tame - but more acceptable to radio - cover version.
