The Rev. James Cleveland a. k. a. King James and Crown Prince, Singer - Pianist - Arranger - Choir Director and Composer, was born 1932. He was an important player in the Gospel music arena with a long and fruitful career starting when he joined the Gospelaires in 1951. He formed the Gospel Chimes, featured on the above record, in 1959, and the following year the Cleveland Singers, which included a young Billy Preston. Rev. Cleveland died in 1991.
