STAND BY ME * LITTLE JUNIOR PARKER * DUKE 330 * USA

Herman Parker Jr., a. k. a. Junior Parker, learned harmonica from Sonny Boy Williamson and played alongside The Howlin' Wolf while still only a teenager, his first recording session was through the aegis of Ike Turner for Modern in 1952. He signed with Don Robey's Duke records in 1953 fronting his band The Blue Flames (a name that was latter adopted by British R&B artist Georgie Fame for his band) and scored his biggest hit with the label in 1957 with Next Time You See Me. The above Stand By Me (not the Ben E. King song) was his seventeenth release for the label.
