It is thought that Ella Fitzgerald's professional singing debut was as vocalist with the Chick Webb Band in 1935, and her first recording was I'll Chase the Blues Away with his band that same year. The above release was recorded in New York, March 1936 and originally issued on Brunswick 7729, this Parlophone disc was the first British issue released in 1943 and is backed with Mean To Me by Billie Holiday and the Teddy Wilson Orchestra
