WANG DANG DOODLE * KO KO TAYLOR AND WILLIE DIXON * CHESS 8035 * GB

Ko Ko Taylor was born Cora Walton, in Memphis, she was orphaned at 11. At the age of 18, she and her husband  moved to Chicago to look for work, where in 1962 she met Willie Dixon who helped her get a contract at Chess Records and in 1965 she had a million seller with the wild and risque Wang Dang Doodle, written, produced and sung on by Willie Dixon.

The record was originally released March 1966 on Checker 1135 in the US (see below in third issue label variation) it was her third release for the label, she had one record issued before signing for Chess, on USA Records in 1963.
