HUNG OVER * MARTINI'S * BAR 101 * USA
I am always thinking that this is a moonlight record by someone like Booker T, but the truth is I don't know. I do now, thanks to Mike Atherton:
BAR was a Memphis label named after its owners Stax promotion man Eddie Braddock, Stax co-owner Estelle Axton and Stax salesman Ewell Roussel. The he record was cut at Hi Studios with Charles "Packy" Axton, sax, Johnny Keyes, congas, Andrew Mitchell, organ, Carl Cunningham of The Bar-Kays (drums) and Hi session stalwarts Mabon "Teeny" Hodges on guitar and his brother Leroy Hodges on bass. The yell is by Axton; his mother Estelle noted that it sounded as if he was being sick, hence the title 'Hung Over'.
