LOVE POTION #9 * ROBERT, RON & EDDIE * UniSFERE 700 * USA
An instrumental version of the Clovers hit with Eddie Silvers, a long time Jazz and R&B player on the Chicago scene, leading on saxophone. UniSFERE, is a another 'Weis' imprint and seems like an odd name for a label, unless it is named after The Unisphere, also known as the Globitron, a 12-story high, spherical stainless steel representation of the earth, which was built for the 1964/65 Worlds Fair, located in Flushing Meadows park, Queens, New York. If it is a reference to that iconic structure then it could be a suggestion of the global quality of the music the label owners hoped to achieve, even though the label was based in Chicago.
