SUMMERTIME * EARL BOSTIC * KING 5861 * USA

Most people in the English speaking world over the age of youth have probably heard the song Summertime at least one time in their life. The song, written by George and Ira Gershwin and DuBose Heyward, and originally featured in the Broadway musical Porgy and Bess, has been performed and recorded innumerable times since being first heard in 1935. The song was conceived and sung as a lullaby but on this powerhouse version it is given the same forceful, brassy and out loud treatment that Billy Stewart gives it on his great rendition.
