Herbie Mann the Jazz flautist on the Ray Charles song, with a guitar solo by Eric Gale. Herbie Mann, who died July 2003, had a long and diverse career in popular music, having incorporated the music of many countries and genres into his art. For Soul fans he was best known for his contribution to many recordings while with Atlantic, including the excellent Hijack, and for such recordings as his live version of Comin Home Baby.
