A Duke Reid production, after he had been touring with comedians Bim and Bam in 1959, it was with Duke Reid's operation that Derrick Morgan first started recording. According to Derrick Morgan the comedy duo had asked him to accompany them in 1957 after seeing him win a Vere John’s 'Opportunity Hour' talent show, where the 17 year old Derrick Morgan sung two Little Richard songs, Morgan toured with the duo, visiting every tiny club and theater on the Island for 2 years, all the time gaining valuable experience and honing and perfecting his vocal talents and entertaining style.
