Dog War or Broadway Jungle, as it was also known, was a big hit in the UK with those Mods who were just beginning to recognize and accept some of the names of the Jamaican artists the Maytals were one such name; along with others like Prince Buster, Derrick Morgan, and the Skatalites. Interesting that both titles of this record, as well as the music, reflect the anarchistic and chaotic nature of the times. With two small but agitated sections of society known as Mods and Jamaican immigrants, who were struggling, in many ways innocently, to destroy the pre-existing order with postionality, creativity and language.
