PUNCH YOU DOWN * JOE WHITE AND CHUCK BARRY * SKA BEAT 180 * GB

A nice Ska vocal from Duke Reid's Treasure Isle studio. I confess to knowing nothing about Chuck Barry (it seems a bit close to Berry), but Joe White is a big favorite of mine, some of his later stuff, especially things like My Guiding Star, which he recorded for Dodd in 1968, are just the most beautiful sounds. The last I heard of Joe White was that he was working on a market stall in London! While String, Sting, or whatever he calls himself, rides Concord to and from America.
