Richard Blandon, September 1934 - December 1991, was the lead singer and along with Bill Carlisle, Tommy Gardner, Cleveland Still and Jake Mille, all from Harlem, New York first recorded as the Marvels for ABC. Then as the Dubs they recorded the above for their manager Hiram Johnson's, Johnson label. The record took off and George Goldner picked it up for national distribution on his Gone label.
