Jackie Wilson on vocals, Jackie was only 18 years old when he joined
the Dominoes in 1953, Clyde (The God) McPhatter, the previous lead singer, had recently
split from them. The Dominoes were issued on King and Federal simultaneously, a ploy
by label owner Sid Nathen, to break the group in the pop field by putting
them out doing 'standards' on King, and cater to the R&B fans on Federal.
During the summer of 1954 manager Billy Ward was looking around for another
label, and later that year the group signed to Jubilee, although,
because the band were still popular, King/Federal continued to release
material.
