Matilda, a great slice of New Orleans R&B, owed some of its pop success at the time by being co-opted into the latest dance craze of the Stroll. Originally released on George Khoury's 'Bayou Hits Kahoury's' label # 703, and leased to Judd for extra distribution, it made it to number 47 on the Billboard pop charts, while astonishingly not getting into the R&B 100!
Still popular six years latter Matilda was reissued in 1965 on Stan Lewis' new Shreveport label Paula backed with I'm Twisted (see below).
