OVER THE MOUNTAIN: ACROSS THE SEA * JONNIE & JOE * J & S 1654 * USA
This M/F due (who many thought was two gille's) comprised of Johnnie Louise Richardson (daughter of J&S owner Zelma "Zell" Sanders) and Joe Rivers. Written by Rex Garvin, this is one of those incredibly sentimental ballads that catch the public's mood and seem to linger in the air waves, it reached number eight on the charts when it was first released, and then entered the top one hundred when it was reissued three years later. This is a second pressing of the original J&S issue; it was first issued on J&S with double horizontal lines and the number 1664. It was also issued on 'silver top' Chess # 1654, the same number as the J & S second press above.
