1968

COMBINATION * LYNN BECKFORD * ISLAND 3144 * UK

Sounding like a young Errol Dunkley this was Keelynn Beckford's (nephew of Theo Beckford) only Island release, originally released on the Deltone label JA, and, according to Dave Katz, was produced by Lee Perry for Dorothy Barnett. The song is an unmistakable pastiche of the Temptations Since I Lost My Baby released in June 1965 on the Gordy label # 7043. In 1970 Keelynn, or Keyling, crops up on another British imprint, GG 4514, doing Groove Me another copy of an American Soul cut.
