MUSIC FLAMES * ERROL BROWN AND LYNN TAITT & THE JETS * PAMA 723 * UK

The B side to Soul Food, a Jamaican version of King Curtis' Memphis Soul Stew, the Soulful Music Flames, produced by Carl Johnson and released on J Js in Jamaica, has Errol Brown (credited as Soul Boy) turning in a classy performance; a sweet Rock Steady cut, backed by the great arrangement and performance of Lynn Taitt and The Jets.

Guitarist, arranger and  producer Lynn Taitt, who Steve Barrow and Peter Dalton call the most significant musician of the Rock Steady period, played on countless records (estimated at 1,500 between 1962 - 1968) both as house backing band for producers like Duke Reid, Sonja Pottinger and Joe Gibbs, and his own instrumental recordings.
