Queen Majesty is a very royal slice of Rock Steady from Duke Reid's Treasure Isle studio, with the voice of Pat Kelly who replaced Slim Smith as lead singer in The Techniques. This sublime adaptation of Curtis Mayfeild's Minstrel and Queen, along with the melodious You Don't Care put his Techniques at the forefront of group harmony style Rock Steady records issued at the time.
Extremely popular in Jamaica the record was virtually always in print right into the early 1970s, from its first Treasure Isle label issue, it has been backed with Out of Many One People; My Girl; Bad Minded People; Fighting For The Right (as on the above British issue) and Little Did You Know (as in the early 1970s issue below).
