DON'T FALL IN LOVE WITH ME * IVORY JOE HUNTER * KING 4220 * USA

The self penned Don't Fall In Love With Me was Ivory Joe Hunter's third release on the King imprint, he had signed with the label in 1947 after recording for the Californian independent Pacific label; set up, like many other independents across America, at the end of the second world war. This highly romantic ballad, with its indivisible mixture of sincerity and disingenuousness is as near perfect a piece of  aesthetic art as can be desired.
