He was first known as the 'Beale Street Blues Boy', then he became just Blues Boy King, which has been shortened to the easier B. B. King. He first recorded for the Nashville independent Bullet label, who released two discs Bullet 309 and 315, from Bullet he moved to the Bihari brothers Beverly Hills independent RPM label. His first for RPM, their sixth release, Mistreated Woman was the start of a long and productive association.
