Freddy King had only one record released before this, his first for Sydney Nathan's Federal imprint, and that was four years earlier on the tiny El + Bee label run by John Burton from Eastlake Terrace, in Chicago. Have you Ever Loved A Woman was recorded in Cincinnati on August 25th along the A side You've Got To Love Her With A Feeling, Hide Away, and two other cuts, with a five piece backing group which included Sonny Thompson on piano.
