Walter Marion Jacobs, a. k. a. Little Walter was born January 1930  in Marksville, Louisiana, he taught himself to play harmonic aged eight. By twelve years  he had left home and formed a group which worked the streets and small clubs in New Orleans. The vocals and harmonica on the above are Little Walter, the Jukes on this cut are:  Robert Lockwood, Dave Myers, guitar; Willie Dixon, bass; Fred Below, drums. Little Walter recorded over a hundred tracks for Chess before his early death aged 38 in 1968, from head injuries sustained in a street fight. My Babe was issued in Britain in 1960 on the London label, then reissued on Pye International in 1964 both times with different B sides nether of which were the same as on the original American release [above].
