RECONSIDER BABY * LOWELL FULSON * CHECKER 804 * USA
Recorded in Los Angeles with piano, saxes, bass and drum accompaniment, Reconsider Baby was Lowell Fulson's first release on the Checker label late in 1954, although his recording career had already been going strong for close on ten years. His debut recording Crying Blues recorded in Oakland California and issued on Big Town 1068 was for the legendary producer Bob Geddings who was, at the time, just the new boy on the block. The masters and alternate takes of Lowell Fulson's early sides with Gedding's were licensed to Jack Lauderdale and issued on his Swing Time label, some were also issued on another LA R&B independent Gilt Edge. Lowell Fullson died in 1999 and during his lifetime he released records in many styles on a galaxy of labels including: Jet, Jewel, Kent, Ride, RPM, Scotty's, Aladdin, Big Town, Cash, Cava-Tone, Colonial, Down Beat, Down Town, Gilt Edge, Granite, Hollywood, Movin', Parrot, Prowlin', RIH, Rounder, Swing, Swing Beat, Swing Time and Trillion.
