SOUND PRESSURE * SOUL BROTHERS * ISLAND 3036 * UK
I am uncertain when this was first released in Jamaica, it could be Sound And Pressure a Coxsone from 1966, mentioned in Dalke's JS20. It was, however, released in the UK in 1967, well into the Rock Steady period even in Britain (Delroy Wilson's Dancing Mood was on # 3013) This makes it one of the last Ska cuts to be released; and I detect in the music an internal struggle that makes it different from those classic confident and resolute cuts preceding it. The title Sound Pressure could reflect this; interestingly enough I always think of this title as belonging to the Rock Steady genre.
