THE FUGITIVE * BUSTERS ALL STARS * BLUE BEAT 321 * GB

This has the voice Prince Buster starting things off with "I'll get the man who killed my wife, so I remain the fugitive." The 'Fugitive' was a incredibly far fetched TV series in the 1960s, about a Doctor Richard Kimble who is falsely accused of killing his wife and sentenced to death! On the train ride to prison, the train wrecks and he escapes! Each episode shows his quest to find the one-armed man he saw fleeing from his home the night of his wife's murder. At the same time, he's being hunted down relentlessly by Lt. Philip Gerard who wants to return him to death row!  Each week found Kimble in a different town accidentally getting himself involved in all manner of ludicrous situations, one week he might be snared in a plot to assassinate the President, another finds him unmasking a million dollar Mafia smuggling ring, while all the time managing to avoid his would be captor by the skin of his teeth, and stay on the trail of his own prey. The series ran from September 1963 through to August 1967, and the dénouement was the highest rated show of all time; seventy-two percent of U.S. audiences watched this final episode. It goes down in TV history as one of the big ones, like who shot J.R., Lucy having a baby, and the last episode of M*A*S*H*. What is most alarming, but not surprising given the audience ratings, about this corporate sanctioned nonsense, is the format was resurrected by CBS in 2000 and 2001 for a contemporary version.
