DUKE'S COOKIES * DUKE REID'S GROUP * BLUE BEAT 24 * UK

During the late 1950s Duke Reid, the radio Deejay turned Sound System operator, along with his arch rival Clement Seymore Dodd, started to record local talent to play at their venues, the above was one of his earliest  productions.

Duke Reid had formed a band to play the type of imported R&B record that was popular with the dancers but because of changing fashions was no longer being recorded in the USA. Duke's Cookies was originally released on the Trojan label as a 78 R. P. M.
