FLEET STREET * DIMPLES & EDDIE * PLANTONE B * UK
I think this is the second release on the Planetone (Planet One?) label, the name is possibly a play on Studio One, the issue numbering is a little erratic, it seems to start with A, then B, C, then shifts to numbering in the 30s and 40s, then shifts back down to numbers from 10 onwards, very irregular, but interesting. The first few issues all feature Rico (Rodriguez) in fact issue A is London Here I Come by Rico, the labels design also changes often (another fascinating aspect of the label) so that one was never quite sure what to expect next. Unfortunately the music was never always quite up to their Jamaican counter-parts, most productions as far as I can tell being British, the above a good Boogie Shuffle, despite the lyrics being eccentric, is, in my opinion, one of the exceptions.
