MANNY OH * HIGGS & WILSON KEN RICHARDS AND HIS COMETS * BLUE BEAT 3 * UK
The first recording by Joe Higgs and Roy Wilson on this W.R.I.L. production, which sold over 50,000 copies in Jamaica. I have never come across a white label issue of number three, so I am guessing that Blue Beat had settled on the yellow label design by this issue. Possibly it was decided that the color blue was more fitting because of the labels success in presenting itself as an eponym; Jamaican music at this time was referred to generically as 'Blue Beat', whether that was before or after the labels appearance is uncertain.
The final label design that was to endure for some four hundred (that's eight hundred sides) glorious issues.
