WHO'S SORRY NOW * CITO FERMIN AND HIS ORCHESTRA * RCA 9019 * T
Cito Fermin was one of the many top band/orchestra leaders on the island of Trinidad in the 1950s and 60s, and this wistful version of Who's Sorry Now was his debut release on RCA. The song was made internationally famous by American Popular singer Connie Francis in 1958, but it goes right back to 1923 when it was first written and performed, and later in the 1946 film A Night In Casablanca staring The Marx Brothers. Cito Fermin's son became a nationally celebrated Calypso singer known as The Hero, and his grandson, known as Ijah Menelik, is a Roots singer.
