Although he was born in 1945 it seems he was relatively late cutting his first record Need You Girl for SSS International in 1968, in fact for such a beautiful voice - writer, producer and singer - Sam Dees recorded pitifully few records in the 1960s and 70s. He wrote and produced the above, the third of five singles - and one album - he cut for the Atlantic label.
